The Body Shop Face Mists Review

Forever and always a Body Shop fan, as soon as I knew their new range of Face Mists had been released, I got myself down to a store and bought 3. Of course. Why have 1 when you can have 3? The 3 I purchased were Mandarin Energising Face Mist, Mint Mattifying Face Mist, and Coco Calming Face Mist. Here’s what I thought:

Mandarin Energising Face Mist
Personally, I find that this particular face mist is perfect to use in the mornings, especially on days when I’m feeling tired or stressed.
SCENT: 9/10 This by far has my favourite smell of the 3. The orange fragrance is fresh and light, rather than overpowering.
EFFECT: 6/10 The label suggests that this mist ‘hydrates, energises’ and ‘revives and awakens skin’. Although it’s definitely hydrating and made me feel more awake, it actually had very little effect on the appearance of my skin.sfeafe

Mint Mattifying Face Mist
The mint mist is my fav and I now carry it around with me everywhere. Not only is it super refreshing on hot sunny days but also, as all the mists are makeup friendly, can be used to de-shine your face throughout the day without ruining your makeup. The only downside to this mist is that the kaolin powder sometimes clumps together at the bottom of the bottle.
SCENT: 6/10 For some reason I’m not the biggest fan of minty fragrances, but I do think it’s really refreshing and not too strong.
EFFECT: 10/10 This one does exactly what it says on the tin. If you find that your skin gets oily during the day, a few spritz of the mist will mattify your skin.sllssl

Coco Calming Face Mist
This one’s great for when your skin’s feeling tight/dry. I wouldn’t say it moisturises at all but it certainly soothes the skin and reduces redness. I like to use the coco mist on makeup free days, or after I’ve removed makeup.
SCENT: 7/10 This has that more artificial coconut smell (if anyone knows what I’m on about) which is a bit disappointing, but still, it reminds me of holidays so I’m not complaining.
EFFECT: 8/10 Like it says, the mist calms and soothes. I feel like you’ve got to spray a lot or keep respraying though to get any long-lasting effect.nenene

Overall Thoughts?
PROS: I love how refreshing the face mists are – perfect for cooling down during the heatwave – and that there’s a lot of choice (there’s 5 face mists in total). I also think that the packaging design is simple but pretty, and it’s great that it’s recyclable! A little goes a long way with these so I feel like they’d last quite a while. The mists are all 100% vegan and cruelty free.
CONS: I think that £6 is a bit steep for the size of the bottles and for what the product actually is (maybe I’m just being stingy?) so I’d say they’re only worth repurchasing if you’ve got a deal or discount. I’d love if there were bigger bottles available too, so people could get more of their favourite face mist.
