20 Things I’ve Learned in 20 Years

I’ve learned a few things in my 20 years of life, here’s 20 of them:

  1. Things do get better
  2. If opportunities do not arise, create them
  3. Always be nice to others, you don’t know what silent battles they may be experiencing
  4. You do not have to apologise for your appearance
  5. It’s okay to put yourself first sometimes
  6. Always consider the impacts your actions and habits have on the environment
  7. Hard work pays off
  8. Do the things that scare you – it’ll be worth it
  9. Don’t worry if friendships change or end, it’s normal; it means you’re both growing
  10. It is worth investing in things that bring you happiness
  11. Be kind to yourself
  12. Small victories are still victories and can still be celebrated
  13. It is okay to reach out for help
  14. You are allowed to be assertive and stand up for yourself/others
  15. You don’t have to be in a relationship to feel whole
  16. ‘No’ is not a bad word
  17. Learn from mistakes rather than dwelling on them
  18. You’re allowed to cry
  19. Don’t be afraid to go after the things you want in life
  20. Tell those you love – friends, family, partners, pets, whoever – that you love them

That concludes my list of 20 things I’ve learned in 20 years! I feel like there’s a lot of other things I could have put on this list (‘hummus* solves all’ came to mind) but these felt like the biggest and most important lessons in my life.

Tell me down below 3 (or more! Or maybe less if you’re feeling lazy..) life-changing/important/funny things you’ve learned in your lifetime. Feel free to link similar ‘X things I’ve learned in X years’ posts as I love reading them!

*what is the correct spelling of hummus/houmous/humous pls?! If I ever find out maybe it will feature on my 21 things I’ve learned in 21 years.

  1. Loved reading this and just may have to do one of my own! Although I have just turned 51, so that is a long list!😆
Hmmm could I do “50” as it is more fitting, or 29??😁
